Living Beyond the Surface: THE PROJECT

On the occasion of Milano Design Week, the Via Gioia Flagship Store presented Living Beyond the Surface, a project created to mark the launch of the new living collection. The title suggests a dual interpretation: on one hand, it refers to surfaces, finishes, and craftsmanship that define the identity of each piece; on the other, it invites us to look beyond appearance, placing the focus on how spaces are experienced every day.

Soft, nature-inspired forms create a sense of warmth and welcome, while natural woods, marble-inspired surfaces, and richly textured stones establish a refined balance between aesthetics and functionality. This edition of the Fuorisalone highlighted a design approach that begins with materials and is completed through everyday use—expressing a fluid and conscious way of living.

what’s new

In the new living collection, volumes are lightened through minimalist glass storage units, while systems that integrate furniture and architecture, featuring curved lines and new heights, expand compositional possibilities and create more fluid, welcoming spaces.

Technology is seamlessly integrated: equipped wall systems conceal cables, while pivot doors are embedded within the furnishings, connecting spaces with natural continuity. Surfaces help define the environment through vertical slatted finishes that add rhythm and depth.

Within this balance, the table becomes the focal point of conviviality: inspired by the lightness of Japanese bridges, it enters the living space with an essential and understated presence.

Material research brings coherence to the whole. Sophisticated chromatic and tactile contrasts see warm-toned woods interact with cool natural stones, while new sustainable surfaces come together to create interiors where aesthetics and awareness coexist.
