Following a degree in architecture at the Polytechnic University of Milan, Marelli and Molteni set up a multidisciplinary architecture, industrial design, graphic design and interior architecture practice in Cantù. They have produced numerous designs for new builds in both the public and private sector and for the restoration of religious buildings of significant artistic and architectural value. Over the years, they have forged major collaborations in the field of interior design and fitting for showrooms, exhibition stands, commercial spaces and homes. In their projects, they aim to promote the human contribution to the production of a piece, showing off old-fashioned workmanship and the craftsman's material culture. Care in the design of details becomes a key part of the creative process, addressing a cultural choice to seek the sweet spot where intellectual effort meets manual work.
"Our work is characterized by the manifestation of the ongoing pursuit of an abstract concept of form, through the design of geometries, how they are arranged and how the component elements of a work of architecture or design piece relate to each other. In our designs, we try to highlight the piece's construction and clearly show the function of its different parts."
